After a recent visit to Penang I fell in love with Georgetowns architecture, the food, the general ambience of the place & of course the wonderful Malaysian people who must rank as some of the friendliest in the world.

I was fortunate enough to stumble upon one of Georgetowns hidden gems that rarely gets mentioned on tourist websites & that is the Peranakan Mansion, I think this is a must see on any visit.

The other tourist site that really caught my eye was the Kek Lok Si Temple & the giant buddha surrounded by a pagoda, this place is simply stunning.

The nightlife was good too & I ventured out of Georgetown to the Queensbay area where I discovered a fantastic bar called Queens Bistro. The welcome I received was very warm & friendly & the live band were awesome, it had a large crowd in for a Wednesday night & I was informed if you want a seat at the weekends you have to enter before midnight! Another place I'd highly recommend.

Penang truly is The Pearl Of The Orient.

I always enjoy my Penang stay... a less polluted place as compared to other cities like KL and JB, and lot of great food too! It's a great getaway.

I think Malaysia is a fantastic country and wherever you go, your never far from something amazing, whether the coastlines of Penang to the metropolis of Kuala Lumpur. You represent a truly fantastic country, and I'm even considering applying for the MM2H (Malaysia My Second Home) Program. I can't wait to learn your wonderful language, and I hope to see you very soon! ^ _ ^
